Alaya F On The News Of Watching Jawaani Jaaneman 500 Times, Sonography Scene, Saif Ali Khan And Tabu- EXCLUSIVE
We have been trying to get you your favourite stars virtually, so that you know what they are up to. Recently, Alaya F joined us for a candid chat on Instagram LIVE. Here's what we spoke to the actress:

How are the days going and what are you missing the most?
They are a bit slow than the usual, of course. I am missing seeing faces, I love being around people and also, getting fresh air.

Are you getting bored and frustrated?
It is frustrating. But I keep myself involved in things. If I don't , I will go mad.

Have you taken to any hobbies in this lockdown phase?
I am getting to draw. I like sketching I used to do it before as well but now I am just more focused on it.

How is your mother? She is into spiritual healing too, is that helping you guys to stay positive?
She is doing fine. She is very happy that me and my brother have moved in with her and we are around 24/7. She remained very positive through this. Always nice to see a happy smiling face around.

Let's talk about the Instagram video, where you are seen dancing on Ole Ole, post which there were headlines saying you have seen your debut film, Jawaani Jaaneman 500 times...
I am really surprised with how people took my exaggeration so seriously and quite literally. What I meant was that no matter how many times I see it, I can see the film all over again. I obviously haven't seen it 500 times!

One scene from your film which you keep watching again and again...
The scene which touches my heart a lot is the one where I run back to Saif and hug him when he asks me to come back home. I love that scene and it makes me very happy. If you ask about the emotional scene, then it has to be the one where I am getting the sonography done, because I got that right in one day!

If you were allowed to do one thing right now which you can't because of the lockdown, what would that be?
I would love to be able to go to my classes. I love my teachers. I love learning and have got so close to them. It's like my family.

How would you advise your fans to stay positive?
What's worked for me is staying productive. The worst thing you can do is be in your bed in pyjamas. Get up in the morning, get ready like its a normal day. Just do something, draw, paint sing- keep yourself busy.

Do you cook? Nowadays a lot of celebs are posting food videos...
I have stayed in New York alone for 3 years so I know basic cooking. But now that I have time, I give more time and cook elaborately. So I am enjoying the luxury cooking.

Has your sleeping pattern gone haywire?
Yes, I sleep later than usual and wake up late. I enjoy being a morning person and having the whole day to myself but that's changed with this new routine, which I am not liking. I feel guilty waking up late because the day has gone and I haven't done anything, although there isn't much to do but still, it's just a habit.

Biggest compliment you have received for Jawaani Jaaneman?
I didn't look out of place in front of experienced actors. That meant a lot because I was a newbie amongst so many talented people.

You experienced jitters as you made your debut among a lot of contemporaries your age...
I did have my fair share of apprehensions. But more than boggling me down, they motivate me. So, I don't mind being scared or have feelings of nervousness and jitters. It drives me to still go for all my classes regularly because it's just the beginning for me.

You have crossed a huge mountain by standing in front of Saif Ali Khan and Tabu. Any point when you felt extremely nervous during the shoot?
The day I got to know that I am shooting with both of them- Saif sir and Tabu mam. I did feel very nervous because I had just gotten used to shooting with Saif sir and then I had to shoot with both of them. But they are fabulous people. Always made me feel comfortable during takes.

Are you actively watching news channels?
No, so I use news apps to stay updated but my phone broke recently and I have been using another phone which is low on memory, so I have not downloaded apps. Past two days I am quite unaware.

Are you planning to chalk out your career in a way that you play on your strengths and attempt those genres?
Not really. I want to try my hands in everything and explore as many avenues as I can. I want to do OTT as well.
